Here you'll find my sports recap videos, pages and graphics I created, and photos I took.
Sports Videos
Before this year, I had never created a video, so I was not familiar with Premiere Pro, but once I learned the software and how to speed up the editing process it became a lot easier, and a lot more fun. After I record my b-roll, I record the interview of the players on camera and record a voiceover about the game. I then use Premiere Pro to edit the clips together and the voiceovers on top of them. As the only person who worked on the filming and editing of these videos, I imagine I will have experienced partners in the future, and the all-around quality will dramatically improve. Like everything else, learning all the parts in the process makes me a better journalist.
Pages and Graphics

This was my first time creating an entire page for the print issue of the newspaper, so I was still getting used to the Adobe InDesign software. I was responsible for creating the layout of the spread and inputting the story that I had written. I also was responsible for choosing and editing the photos and writing the sidebar. I learned how to use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos, which was more challenging than I had initially thought because I was so new to the software and photo editing pro

This has been my favorite page so far because I was a lot more comfortable using Adobe InDesign. I was responsible for inputting the story, choosing photos and creating the pull quote and headline design.

For this issue, our latest issue, I was responsible for creating the layout of the story and sports shorts sidebar. I chose, edited, and inputted the photos as well. For this issue, I assigned members of the staff with the sport shorts that needed to be covered. Some of the pages got switched around, so I coordinated what those changes were, who was making them, and how they were going to get done.
